School Year Calendar

March break (mid-winter break) for the 2020-2021 school year is postponed to the week of April 12, 2021.

2021-2022 to 2024-2025

1. The following charts are provided for the guidance of school board officials in the preparation of school year calendars. School boards are required to prepare, adopt, and submit to the Ministry of Education, on or before May 1^st of each year, the school year calendar(s) to be followed in the next school year. The regular school year is the period between September 1 and June 30.
2. The school year calendars must be completed in accordance with the Education Act and Regulation 304, School Year Calendar, Professional Activity Days. Where a board wishes to adopt a school year calendar that is different from the requirements in section 2 of the regulation, the board shall submit the proposed school year calendar to the Ministry of Education for approval on or before March 1^st of the preceding school year.
